Once upon a time and twice upon a time, and all times together as even I heard tell of...
I trained and worked as an actress and drama facilitator for many years, but after the birth of my daughter, I re-focused my career to full time storytelling.
I’ve always had a love of stories both old and new and always been drawn to sharing them. After all, people have a basic need to listen and tell stories. We have always told stories, even long before we knew how to write them down.
My earliest memories are my mother telling me a 'magic story' every night before I went to sleep and my dreams being filled with the wonderful worlds and adventures she had conjured up in my imagination. If I can spark the same joy in just one child and encourage creativity, then I'm happy.
I tell stories in schools, nurseries, libraries, hospitals, yurts, windmills, galleries, fields, woods, by the sea and in gardens, in fact wherever someone will listen. I’ve worked for festivals, heritage sites, corporate events and parties engaging young and old with folk, fairy and wonder tales alongside myths and legends, both from these shores and from around the world.
I have an extensive repertoire and I'm always happy to research and prepare new material if required, after all, it gives me an excuse to dive into more stories!
So, if you are a school or have a project or event or just want to be taken away with a wonderful story, it's easy - just drop me an email with details about the dates and times you have in mind and I'll be happy to give you a quote.
I have an enhanced DBS and public liability insurance and I'm a member of both Equity, The Society for Storytelling and The National Literacy Trust.
